I have heard many, MANY people say that Morrowind is the best TES, that Oblivion was a big step backward/downhill. Others point out that Oblivion is "more playable". In your opinion, which games were best and why? Were you a Morrowind megafan before Skyrim came out? Has this new release changed your opinion? Do you think I have asked enough questions to make the topic clear?

Can;t really answer this can I since I didn;t play Morrowind yet, but I did see my friend play.

I love Morrowind simply because it's more immersive. And since I got it off steam and didn't get a map I had no idea where I was going, I was forced to jump right into the heart of the game.

You actually had a need for the map, and there's no stupid fast travel, or a marker guiding you everywhere. It's a bit of a chore to live when you're low level and dungeon crawling, but it's so worth it. And the quests are a bit more challenging too. I spent almost five hours looking for a stupid little puzzle box which turned out to be in a room over a cleverly disguised bridge.

Skyrim disappointed me a bit. I wanted it to be a little more like Morrowind, where you don't get people to help you, because they may just be a daedric prince, and that favour you owe them may not be so pretty. I like how some of the quests flow naturally though. Skyrim does have a lot of cool stuff about it. And I am happy they brought back Enchanting.

Oblivion was okay, it did seem like it was targeted for the LOTR fanbase though. I do like challenge in my game, I flew through the Great Gate in like 20 minutes. The Morrowind final boss surprised me though, who expects to find a giant dwemer robot in a volcano? Morrowind just has that randomness that Fallout 3 and New Vegas seem to have, and I like it.

Obviously I'm a Morrowind megafan, from the book I just wrote. xD Now to mod Skyrim.... hopefully it doens't wind up like my copy of Oblivion, which is modded to the point of death.

hard to say. For me its really hard to play morrowind but i fell in love at the opening cutscene.

Oblivion was the first TES game that i have ever played, i remember sitting there for hours and just playing, but it got boring and dull quickly. Then i bought it to pc and added few mods (by few i mean alot). Whict made the game much better and later on i have started to see problems with oblivion.

As for skyrim... it was a great game only problem was that in some race (such as dunmer) the game felt empty and i couldn't do things that i wanted to (for example help the poor dunmer in windhelm). Voice acting wasn't as good as i thought, but overall it was alot better then oblivion.

I think that morrowind is my favourite TES game however i have played it the least, but when it come to fantasy in overall my home will always be Nermtal (hurray for pointless selfplug!)

They were all great for their time, it really is an opinion but I do wish there was a little more Miscellaneous things to do in Skyrim, such as more point in cooking meat because 5-10 health really isn't enough motivation to get you to hunt.

Oblivion was good, had a good plot to it. Skyrim has a really good story aswell, they're more casual but not too casual. Morrowind was hardcore, took a lot of patience to deal with the game.

It really is just an opinion, I didn't get too far into Morrowind... but I'd prob have to say Skyrim is the best, by far.
